meal planning

hectic schedule? try meal planning.

Planning meals for the week may seem like a drag, but you, your wallet & the earth will be thanking you later.

why meal plan?

Meal planning is an ingenious solution to our chaotic lives. We can save on trips to the grocery store, save money by avoiding eating take out, and we can get more nutrients during our busy days. Ultimately meal planning helps to reduce food waste, lowers our carbon emissions by only taking one trip to the grocery store per week, and saves us time and money (and everyone loves having more of both). So let's face it, we all could use some more meal planning in our lives.

...so how do I meal plan?

On Sunday's (or any day that works best for you), plan your meals out for the week, whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner everyday, or even just dinner each night. Meal planning can mean whatever you want, as long as it's helping you to save time, money, and the planet.

Meal planning doesn't always mean cooking entire meals for the week in one day (although it can be). Meal planning can be pre-cooking the grains you will be eating that week, or chopping and freezing veggies to make cooking dinner easier.

Meal planning also gives you the opportunity to be creative and try different foods, and eat a variety of colors. Think outside the box. If you don't have the item on hand and don't feel like making another trip to the store, find a substitute (ex: substitute kale for spinach, or rice for barley).
